Happy Friday! Today we’re sharing a Plaster & Disaster update: effective immediately, we will be doing a fashion post every Friday! Here’s a snap from a recent shoot we did:
Just kidding, no one should take fashion advice from us. Instead we’re sharing the much less disturbing news that we are changing up our weekly post schedule. Since Plaster & Disaster started over 1.5 years ago, we have posted every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and have never missed a post except for a handful of vacation days we’ve intentionally planned (and one time when Sage accidentally scheduled a post for a Tuesday instead of a Wednesday….). We love being on a regular schedule, and that isn’t going to change. What is going to change is that we won’t typically be posting on Fridays anymore.
When we first decided on our schedule way back when we dreamed up the blog (more on how it all began here), we planned to post three times per week with content-heavy posts on two days of the week and lighter fare on the last. But then we never felt right putting out light posts so we tried to make all our posts fairly substantial. Recently that has been difficult to maintain, and we’ve found ourselves struggling to deliver good content three times per week. There are a lot of reasons, but the transition to more demanding jobs for both of us (jobs which we both love) has definitely played a big role.
So starting next week, we’ll be moving to two posts a week (Mondays and Wednesdays). We do plan to share some short posts on the occasional Friday, so if you don’t already subscribe to our post notification newsletter we’d definitely encourage you to so that you don’t miss a thing. Ultimately our goal is to keep our projects and posts going on a schedule that is sustainable for us in the long term, keeps it fun, and lets us keep sharing content we’re proud of, and we think this shift will help us do that.
We hope you have a wonderful weekend, and we’ll see you Monday!

I like how your shoes match your pants, making your legs look all elongated. And the “pops” of yellow and turquoise are so kicky and fun.
Sage says
There’s really nothing that isn’t improved with pops of turquoise.

You certainly know how to accessorize! Those orange tools just MAKE the outfits.
Don’t worry, we’ll still be here. I know all about life-eating jobs that you love. I’m living in a city because of one, instead of in the country where I had to drive forty-five miles to work in all weathers. I’ll get back, someday, but for now, I love my job.
Sage says
Thanks Mary Anne! We hope it won’t feel like too much of a cut-back, and it will make things a lot more sustainable. I guess there are worse things than loving your job 🙂
Stacey says
The black of your suit is so slimming!!
But seriously, based on the response to your pants search you very well could do some fashion posts.
Sage says
Good point! But on the other hand I make approximately one clothing purchase each year, so it wouldn’t be a very frequent feature. I’d rather spend my money on new tools 🙂
Debo says
Whatever works for you will work for us.
If the tiny bloggers will help Sage finish her kitchen ……that could be months of posts.
Especially if they use tiny paint brushes for
doing the cabinets or maybe they will weave a
rug for her kitchen floor. I am thinking they
may take long nap breaks on the nice bench cushion with Murphy so contract by the job and not by the hour.
Have a great weekend ladies!!
Sage says
Thanks Debo!
I could really use some help from those tiny bloggers. I imagine them working away for hours while I’m at the office. That would be lovely!

I used to post 4 or 5 times a week when I first started, and I have no idea how I managed it. Actually, these days I’m struggling to manage one a week. But part of that is become I started a second blog like a big dummy. And the other part of it is named Abe. Anyway, sustainable and fun blogging schedules are good things!
Sage says
That’s amazing Gretchen, especially since there’s only one of you! I think one a week is totally impressive and sufficient, unless you blog full-time it’s just hard to manage much more!
