Unlike most of our competitions, however, we weren’t competing against each other or even actual other people. Instead, we recreated three 4th of July crafts that we found on pinterest, and created one of our own that we hoped would top them. Over the course of several hours, we created patriotic mason jars, patriotic pineapples, a patriotic floor mat, and patriotic faux firecrackers using pool noodles.
An excellent use of our time!
We then asked you to vote to detect the “fake” project.
The results are in and…
Wow, you guys sure thought we were joking about those pineapples, huh?
It’s true, pineapples are extremely bloggery. We totally see where you’re coming from. However, that was actually one of the real projects! And it even won us over, because the pineapples were very satisfying to spray paint. Seriously, you should try it some time.
The actual fake project was….
Patriotic Floor Mat!
Less than 7% of voters suspected that was the plant among the real projects. Ultimately, that means we totally failed in our attempt to be the best bloggers, making this one of the few design competitions that we’ve ever lost. Bummer!
Thanks for reading and voting and enjoy your weekend!
Really??? cause I see doormats done up like that (except for the bandanas maybe) ALL the time, but pool noodles for firecrackers, NO WAY that could be real, I’m astonished.
There are a few varieties on that project out there, actually! An inventive idea – flattered that you thought we came up with it!
I was so appalled by each the entries that I don’t even remember which one I voted for! (Fun contest, though. I love the contests!)
Haha, that is just the reaction we were hoping for Bonnie! Glad that you enjoyed!
I actually really like the pineapples
We’re getting a surprisingly positive response to them!
