Usually we try to be really honest with you guys and share all the gritty details along the way — it’s kind of our whole thing. But the truth is, we’ve been keeping a bit of a secret for a little while now. We just really didn’t want to jinx anything, and were worried it was going to fall through. Now that the transaction has finally gone through, though, we’re so relieved to be able to share some exciting (and also terrifying) news!
We jumped into blogging having known each other only a few months (as we talked about during our blog anniversary celebration in January), and fortunately it turns out we get along really well. Phew. And while we obviously both spend a lot of time working on our own homes, it’s always so much fun when we’re able to work on things together (like our amazing plastic cactus table…no, we will never stop talking about it).
Pretty much since Day 1 we’ve dreamed about taking on something bigger together, but over the past few months we started talking about it more seriously. And then talking turned into looking at house listings online…. And then before we knew it, looking turned into buying! Yup.
You may be thinking: what is this hideous death trap? Well, as of March 26th, it became our hideous death trap. Our hideous deathtrap with about 6 different kinds of wallpaper. But trust us, there is so much potential here!
We know these photos are terrible — we’re planning a much more extensive post about this on Wednesday, so we wanted to be super cruel and only show a few (dark and blurry) teasers for now.
As it’s abundantly clear, this is a major fixer upper. Like, almost a gut job. And yes, Sage is in the middle of a renovation, and Naomi is still working on her house (we know you haven’t forgotten about her garage). The timing is not exactly ideal. But the market in Boston moves so quickly that once you start looking, even casually, that can turn into a purchase pretty quickly. On Wednesday we’ll post more about how this all went down, but in the meantime it feels good to finally share this news with you guys! Here’s to new adventures!
